Responsibilities Summary The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for taking projects through the Project Management Life Cycle, successfully delivering to all project baselines - cost, schedule, and scope. They will effectively collaborate with team members, other project managers, leaders, and vendors, whether in person or remote, to ensure the successful completion of project while managing several initiatives simultaneously.

Principal Duties And Responsibilities

• Work directly with business stakeholders to understand project needs and objectives
• Owns the successful execution of the project life cycle for simultaneous projects of varying size
• Create and manage the project baselines – Scope, Schedule, Budget
• Lead the project team, internal, offshore and vendor resources, to complete tasks and meet deadlines
• Demonstrate project leadership and exert influence outside of the immediate team
• Provide timely reporting of issues that impact progress, coordinating actions and resolution
• Report project metrics to demonstrate the project’s progress, risks, and issues
• Owner of project progression, conducting regular team meetings, addressing roadblocks or escalation to meet project deliverables and deadlines
• Partner with other project managers to ensure alignment on related projects
• Manage vendor relationships to ensure receipt of promised deliverables, review vendor charges, and ensure vendors stay on scope, on budget, and on time
• Follow change management processes for any scope, cost, or schedule adjustments
• Ensure QA activities occur throughout the project life cycle for test planning, activities, and metrics
• Manage all aspects of an overall program for alignment and meeting the strategic objectives
• Participate and/or manage vendor proposals and selections, along with appropriate key stakeholders
• Follow IT project management policies and procedures, and participate in creating or updating practices, templates, policies, and tools to expand and mature these capabilities
• Continue professional development to keep abreast of emerging technologies, methods, and best practices
• Extensive understanding of project and program management principles, methods, and techniques
• Assist with Project Delivery management activities when needed
• Other duties as defined by the supervisor

QualificationsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Thorough understanding of the Project Life Cycle (PLC) and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
• Demonstrated leadership and analytical skills to achieve project results
• Demonstrated critical thinking skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to professionally interact with all levels in the company, translating technical topics to layman’s language
• Ability to effectively manage multiple projects at once
• Understand interdependencies between technology, operations, and business need
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word, Excel, Project, and Visio; understanding of SharePoint
• Knowledge of Property and Casualty industry and insurance and underwriting rules and decision tree logic preferred.
• Experience with and understanding of Property and Casualty Claims processes and procedures preferred
• Experience with underwriting software applications and web-based underwriting systems preferred
• Intermittent travel may be required

Qualifications, Education And Experience Preferred

• Bachelor’s Degree from four-year College or University preferred; and/or minimum 8 year’s work experience in related position
• Experience in the P&C Insurance Industry Required
• 6+ years of work experience as a Project Manager
• PMP or Agile Certification
• Change Management experience preferred
• Insurance industry experience preferred

Compensation & BenefitsThe applicable base salary for this opportunity is $135,000 - $145,000. The base pay offered will be determined by factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. In addition to the base salary, this opportunity may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
