Choose monthly or annual billing

You can choose monthly or annual billing to suit your budgeting needs.

  • Monthly: You’ll be billed every month on the same day and time you received your first invoice. For example, if your subscription starts on May 15 at 9:00 AM, you’ll receive your next monthly invoice on June 15 at 9:00 AM.

  • Annual: You’ll be billed every year on the same day and time you received your first invoice. For example, if your subscription starts on May 15 at 9:00 AM, you’ll receive your next annual invoice on May 15 at 9:00 AM the following year.

If you start with a free trial, you’ll receive your first invoice within 48 hours after your free trial ends.

You can change your subscription frequency at any time. Learn more about managing your 1Password subscription.

Invite people to your family or team at any time

You can invite people to join your family or team account at any time. Your subscription may include a set number of family or team members and guests in the base price.

1Password Families

Your subscription includes 5 family members and 5 guests. You’ll be charged a prorated amount for each additional family member or guest who accepts an invitation to join your account. Learn more about 1Password Families pricing.

1Password Teams Starter Pack

Your subscription includes 10 team members and 5 guests. Contact 1Password Support if you need to invite additional team members or guests. Learn more about 1Password Teams Starter Pack pricing.

1Password Business

Your subscription bills for each team member and includes 20 guests. You’ll be charged a prorated amount for each team member who accepts an invitation and for additional guests if you have more than 20. Learn more about 1Password Business pricing.

When you add someone to your account, you’ll be charged a prorated amount based on the date they join your account and the time left in your current monthly or annual billing cycle. You’ll be billed the prorated amount within 48 hours of when each person accepts their invitation.

Learn more about adding people to your account if you’re using 1Password with a free trial.

Remove someone from your family or team

You can remove people from your family or team account at any time.

  • If you have a subscription that includes a set number of people, your subscription billing will remain the same if you remove people within that set number. For example, if you have a family account with five family members and you remove one person, your subscription billing won’t change.

  • If you have a subscription that bills for each person, or if you have an account with more than the included number of family members, team members, or guests, the change will be reflected in your next monthly or annual invoice if you remove someone. For example, if you have a family account with ten family members and you remove one person, your next monthly or annual invoice will bill you for nine family members (the base cost for your family account, which includes five people, plus the amount for four additional people).

For all subscriptions, you can add another person in place of the person you removed within the same monthly or annual billing period without any changes to your subscription billing. A family member or team member can only be replaced with another family member or team member, and a guest can only be replaced with another guest. Any amount already charged is nonrefundable.

Keep your account data and perks even if you cancel

Your data is yours. Even if you cancel your subscription and your 1Password account is frozen, you can still sign in to 1Password.com or the apps to view and export your data, as long as you don’t delete your account.

If you have a credit or any other perks when you cancel your subscription, they will remain in your account. As long as you don’t delete your account, you can use the credit or other perks if you start your subscription again later. Unused credits are nonrefundable.

Try 1Password for free

You can try 1Password for free for 14 days. To get started, decide whether you want to use 1Password on your own, with your family, or with your team at work.

1Password Families or 1Password Business

If you try 1Password Families or 1Password Business, you can add or remove as many people as you’d like during your free trial. At the end of your trial, your first invoice will bill you for the number of active family members, team members, and guests in your account, according to what’s included in your subscription.

The number of active users for all accounts is calculated daily at 7:00 PM ET, so your first invoice may include people who were added up to 24 hours before your subscription is set to start. For example, if you start your free trial on May 1 at 9:00 AM ET, the final number of active users in your account will be calculated on May 14 at 7:00 PM ET. Your first invoice will be sent to you when your subscription starts on May 15 at 9:00 AM ET and will include the number of active users calculated on May 14 at 7:00 PM ET.

You won’t be charged for people who have been suspended, deleted, or invited but haven’t joined. If you choose to cancel your subscription before your trial ends, you won’t be charged at all.

1Password Teams Starter Pack

If you try the 1Password Teams Starter Pack, you can add up to 10 team members during your free trial. If you want to add more people, you’ll need to remove team members first before you can add more, or contact 1Password Support for help.
