About the North Carolina Lottery
The state legislature approved the North Carolina Education Lottery in 2005. Since then, profits from ticket sales have gone toward education in North Carolina, funding various initiatives from preschool programs to college scholarships.
The North Carolina Lottery joined Powerball in 2006, followed by Mega Millions in 2010. The lottery also offers its own daily draw, jackpot, and scratch-off games.

You need to be 18 or older to purchase and redeem lottery tickets.
You have 180 days from the date of the draw to claim your winnings.
The North Carolina Lottery is not responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen tickets. Keep tickets safe. Signing your ticket helps prove you own it in case you lose it.
In North Carolina, a jackpot winner's name, city, county, and prize amount is made public unless the winner produces a valid protective order or an Address Confidentiality Program authorization.
We suggest that you consult a lawyer before claiming any big prizes, however, as it may be possible to claim your prize through a trust to retain your anonymity.
You cannot buy tickets through the mail or over the phone. You must purchase your North Carolina Lottery tickets at a licensed retailer, online, or through the North Carolina Lottery Official Mobile App.
